WElcome to Toasty Oasty
We affectionately call our home ‘Toasty Oasty’ a beautiful 17th Century Kentish Oast set in 3 Acres. Our holiday homes Barley and Bluebell Byre overlook lawns, woodlands and a large picturesque fishing lake. In these beautiful surroundings you can relax, enjoy walks, cycling and visit a huge range of local attractions. Just a short distance away are award winning vineyards that offer wine tastings, a boating station with kayaks and sunset cruises and a host of atmospheric country pubs. Some Kent award winning gardens and 2 local pubs are within walking distance. Historic Rye and Camber sands are just a short drive.

My husband James and I bought ‘ Toasty Oasty’ in February 2022. Thi is the next chapter after a long career delivering events and catering at London top attractions and Museums.
We absolutely love meeting guests from all over the UK and overseas and take great pleasure in seeing how much they enjoy their holiday breaks. In 2023 we have started to offer fully catered events for special occasions that include accommodation, marquees and catering to celebrate with friends, family and colleagues.

We hope you come and visit soon.

Warm wishes, Heather & James

We were made to feel very welcome. A lovely place to stay. Lots of good walks for the dog.
Went for dinner and lunch at the White lion pub in Tenterden, food superb. V. dog friendly.
The lake is an ideal spot for a bit of fishing. Have already booked to return next year.

Amazing week. Hope to be back soon. Had friends to stay over the weekend and went on some lovely walks with the dogs. Rye Harbour nearby for hubby’s powerboat course. Great food and service the Bull Pub – but go in hungry ! We met up with lots of friends nearby. Thank you Heather and James for making us feel so welcome. It really is a beautiful place to stay.

We’ve had a lovely stay at Barley Byre. Thanks for the tip re the nearby Chapeldown vineyard, the wines were very fine. This was a lovely house in a wonderful site. We would recommend you and the heavenly landscape for walking and biking in Kent and East Sussex.
